Electricity can resume in Thinadhoo after four days

FENAKA Corporation, providing electricity to G. Dh. Thinadhoo has said that the generators were destroyed in the powerhouse fire last night and it would take about four days to resume power service to the island.

Speaking at the press conference today held at the main office of FENAKA Corporation regarding the Thinadhoo powerhouse fire last night, the Managing Director of FENAKA Corp. Mohamed Nimal said that STELCO and MWSC has helped to provide a temporary solution to Thinadhoo power situation. And so the electricity generators provided by the two companies would reach the island tomorrow night.

He said that their logistical teams are working to take the generators to the site and a team of engineers from the North and Southern atolls have been established to be present at the site when the generators arrive to begin work as quickly as possible.

“We believe that in the next four days or so, electricity service would resume to the people.” Nimal said.

The Managing Director of FENAKA Corp. Mohamed Nimal said that the company is working to provide electricity to the people at specific times before their normal services can resume.
