Man commits suicide in Addu

A man was found dead Saturday morning from Addu City Maradhoo-Feydhoo after what seems to be a suicide attempt.

Deputy Mayor of Addu City Council Abdulla Tayyib confirmed to “Sun” that the Council had received information that a man had been found hanging with a noose around his neck; and that he had been dead when taken to hospital.

Tayyib said that the man found dead worked as a teacher for children with disabilities.

Originally from Hulhumeedhoo, the suicide victim lives and works in Maradhoo-Feydhoo.

He was found dead in the house he stayed in.

Police said that the man found dead from hanging was 33 years old. And that he committed suicide sometime Saturday morning.
