Adheeb: Charges say I carried a pistol on May Day

Former Vice President Ahmed Adheeb Abdul Gafoor has said that the charges filed against him say that he carried a pistol on May Day.

At the first hearing in the terrorism case against Adheeb, he said that although he has requested the documents related to the case through a lawyer, he has not received anything other than the formal charges against him.

“When applied through a lawyer to get the documents of the case, only a summary statement was received. With a summary statement alone, it is difficult to hire a lawyer.” Adheeb said.

The former Vice President was charged with terrorism in suspicion of possessing a pistol firearm. Head of the Crime Investigation Department of the Police, Chief Superintendent Hamdhoon Rasheed has previously said that the some people have given their statements to the investigation saying that the former Vice President had a firearm at his apartment.

An official from the Police said that Adheeb had a pistol handgun at his residence some time ago and it was not reported by those who had the knowledge because of the state of affairs at the time.
