Maldives condemns the terrorist attack on the Indian airbase

The Maldives has condemned Saturday’s attack on the Indian air force base in Pathankot, Punjab.

In a statement issued by the Maldivian Foreign Ministry yesterday, the Maldivian government strongly condemned the attack saying that terrorism is threat to peace and humanity.

“The cowardly attack that took place in Pathankot will only strengthen our resolve to remain steadfast in our collective efforts to bring an end to this global scourge forever.” The statement said.

Saturday’s attack on the Pathankot air force base left two soldiers dead and many wounded. Indian forces killed four of the six militants that attacked the base within the first hour or so of the attack.
