26 people assigned as Industrial Policy Executives

President Abdulla Yamin Abdul Gayoom has assigned 26 Deputy Ministers at the government ministries as Industrial Policy Executives.

Before the change, there were 79 Deputy Ministers in the government. Now there are 53.

While changes have been brought to a number of deputy ministers, no changes have been made to the deputy ministers at the Youth Ministry and the Foreign Ministry.

Spokesperson of the President’s Office, Ibrahim Muaz Ali told Sun Media before that those appointed as Industrial Policy Executives would be working at the policy making level.

He said that although some of the Deputy Ministers have been changed, no changes would be made to their salaries.
