President Yameen sends message of sympathy to President of Indonesia

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a message of sympathy ?to President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, following the ferry accident in province of Sulawesi.

In his message, President Yameen said that he was deeply saddened to hear of the accident which had caused the loss of innocent lives and injured many, and while the search for survivors continued, Maldivians joined him in praying that more of the victims that remain unaccounted for can be saved.

The message read, “At this time of tragedy, the government and the people of the Maldives join me in conveying our profound sympathy to Your Excellency, the government and the people of Indonesia. I wish the recovery efforts every success, and commend the tenacity of the Indonesian people in the face of such tragedy.

“Please also convey our sincere condolences to the members of the bereaved families.”
