State request Adheeb and Ziyath be brought to the courthouse for their trial

The state has requested that former Managing Director of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) Abdulla Ziyath and form Vice President Ahmed Adheeb Abdul Gafoor be summoned to the courthouse for their trials.

State made the request at the hearing of the charges against Adheeb and Ziyath.

After the state made the request at the hearing today, Chief Judge Abdulla Mohamed said that the court would make the arrangements to bring the two to the courthouse for the trial.

While Adheeb has been charged with terrorism, today’s hearing was the charge of misuse of official authority against the former Vice President.

Ziyath has been charged with embezzlement alone so far. Today he pleaded not guilty to the charge.
