Work at High Court Southern Branch has begun today

High Court Southern Branch built in Hulhumeedhoo, Addu City has officially been open today.

The decision was made after the Supreme Court decided by unanimous vote on Monday to start cases at the Southern Branch of the High Court starting today.

And so the administrative work to accept and registering cases at the court has begun.

Although there are some services not available yet since the branch is brand new, High Court says that the services to the general public would be available starting today.

While the Southern branch of the High Court has officially been opened, Supreme Court has assigned Judge Abdul Ganee Mohamed as the Chief Judge of the Court.

Aside from Judge Ganee, the judges at the High Court Southern branch are Judge Azmiralda Zahir and Judge Shuaib Hussain Zakariya.

The Southern Branch of the High Court would be above the courts and tribunals in Addu City and Fuvahmulah.
