59 new officers join police ranks

59 new officers have joined Maldives Police Service, swearing their oaths on Tuesday.

The ceremony was held at Iskandhar Koshi.

Article 4 of Police Act states that all officers need to swear their oath in front on a judge, and that it is a criminal offense to act against their oath.

It is the civic duty of police officers to protect the Maldivian Constitution and protect and maintain safety of the society.
