Defence Minister meets American Ambassador

Minister of Defence Mohamed Nazim has met the American Ambassador to Maldives and Sri Lanka Patricia Butenis.

At the meeting held at Defence Ministry yesterday, discussions took place on how to strengthen the relations between the US and Maldives.

Ambassador Butenis stressed the importance of Maldives working with other countries for the development of the country, and that Maldives is part of the US foreign policy. She assured to assist in strengthening MNDF.

Defence Minister Nazim noted US assistance in strengthening the Maldives military, and expressed hope that US assistance will continue in the future.
