Police provide security at BML head office

Police have been commissioned on contract basis to provide security at some floors at the Bank of Maldives (BML) main building in Malé.

Police said in a statement that Special Constabulary (SC) Police began providing security and guiding customers at BML head office on Sunday, 6 December 2015.

Other locations with SC Police presence include Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), Hulhumalé Hospital, Thilafushi Corporation, and Youth Centre. Crime at these places, especially theft at IGMH, has seen a significant decline since the launch of this service.
