Thief who broke through the roof arrested

Two thieves who broke through the roof of a shop on Maaveyo Magu has been arrested.

Police said that they arrested a 29-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman in the incident last night.

And so the man was arrested while fleeing after jumping off the roof when the Police arrived and the woman, the lookout, was arrested on the road.

Police said that it has been revealed so far that MVR 3000 was stolen from the cash register of the shop.

The thief entered the shop after taking off the roof of the place and breaking through the ceiling.

Police said that a tool used in the break-in was found inside the woman’s bag. And the man was treated at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital for the cuts he sustained during the break-in.

The woman has a record with the Police for robbery and theft while the man has a record for theft and drug related cases.
