Man arrested in Addu City with drugs

A man has been arrested in Hithadhoo, Addu City with three packets of suspected drugs.

Police said that they arrested a 32-year-old man.

The man has a record of gang violence with weapons, attempted suicide, statutory rape and a number of drug related cases with the Police.

He was arrested following suspicions of being under the influence this morning around 11:20 a.m. on a road in Hithadhoo.

Police said that one of the suspected drug packets were found when he dropped it when he was being searched after being taken into custody and the other two packets were found in the pocket of his jeans.

The case is being investigated further by the Police.
