Meteorological Center: Heavy rains expected for the next three months

Maldives Meteorological Service has said that more rain than usual is expected in the Maldives area.

The consensus forecast published on Monday says that heavy rains more than usual is expected in the Maldives area from December to February.

The Meteorological Center made the estimate based of different forecast models in different parts of the world.

The publication said that the Pacific Ocean is being affected by a powerful El Niño but this region will not be affected by precipitation and temperature.

Parts of the Maldives and parts of the neighboring India are already experiencing heavy showers.
