The remand of Ahmed Ashraf a.k.a. Shumba Gong, who was arrested in the investigation of the explosion on board the Presidential Launch, has gotten his remand extended for a third time.
Police Media Official said that the Criminal Court extended his remand by 15 days yesterday. His remand was previously extended on 17 November.
Shumba Gong was arrested in Sri Lanka in a joint operation between the Sri Lankan Police and the Maldivian Police Service at his residence in Sri Lanka.
No details of the case he is being investigated has not been released yet.
Shumba Gong is a social activist who promoted the former Vice President Ahmed Adheeb Abdul Gafoor. He has criticized the Government since the Vice President’s arrest.
