Th. Guraidhoo Councilor arrested with drugs

A member of the Th. Guraidhoo Island Council has been arrested with drugs.

Sources say that Police arrested Island Councilor Ibrahim Ali.

Police Media Official said that a 23-year-old man was stopped and searched in Guraidhoo around 9:15 on 30 November following information received to Police Intelligence.

Police said that during the search where he was stopped on the road, two packets of drugs were found on the ground where he was standing.

The Police Official said that the man’s urine tested positive for drugs.

Madifushi Court has extended the man’s remand by 15 days.
