President: It is our duty to honour Abdul Sattar Moosa Didi

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has said that it was the duty of every Maldivian citizen to honour State Dignitary Abdul Sattar Moosa Didi’s national services.

In his message in the Book of Condolence placed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs honouring late Abdul Sattar Moosa Didi, the President said that his passing was a great loss to the nation.

Abdul Sattar Moosa Didi died on Friday, 27 November 2015, in Bangkok, Thailand.

Highlighting his invaluable services, the President noted the great contributions made by late Abdul Sattar Moosa Didi, particularly in securing full independence for the Maldives from British Protectorate status. He underlined the commendable way late Abdul Sattar Moosa Didi strategically conducted the negotiations on the peace treaty with the British government.

President Yameen attended the funeral prayer in-absentia for late Abdul Sattar Moosa Didi, held after Isha prayer at Islamic Centre last night.
