An agreement of MVR 5.9 million has been signed today to buy administrative equipment for the medical centers in the atolls and to repair some of the medical centers.
Speaking to the press at the ceremony to sign the agreement, Health Minister Iruthisham Adam said that computer systems are needed in the atolls to maintain the medical records of the people in such a way that the people can trust.
“At the health centers, to providing Aasandha service, for the doctors to prescribe medicines and to do numerous other administrative works, a good information system needs to be established in the atolls.” Minister Iruthisham Adam.
An agreement signed today was to find 384 computer systems and 393 printers.
And the project to repair the B. Goedhoo Health Center along with L. Hithashoo Health Center and A.A. Rasdhoo Atoll Hospital was awarded to a company today.
Minister Iruthisham said that the repairs of the three medical centers would cost above MVR 1.1 million.
“Providing a reliable service at the health centers and hospitals is our hope. And something we always work for.” Minister said.
Highlighting the improvements made at the health centers in the atolls, the Health Minister said that the grades of some of the medical centers in A.D. Atoll and R. Atoll have now been changed.
And that 24 hour service is now available from Th. Hirilandhoo Health Center, K. Kuraidhoo, Hinmbafushi and Maafushi Health Centers and that inspection teams are sent to Medical Centers to see the quality of service and do an audit.
