Mother abandons child at hospital and escapes after giving birth

A woman who gave birth has abandoning her baby boy at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

Sources say that a woman who gave birth four days ago left the bay at the hospital and left when she got discharged. And although she returned to the hospital, she left again abandoning the baby at the hospital.

Regarding the matter, the Media Official of IGMH, Zeenath Ali Habeeb said that although the hospital has discharged a woman who gave birth four days ago, her child is currently in the hospital in the care of the Gender Ministry.

“The child is being treated at the hospital. Everything related to the child is being taken care of by the Gender Ministry. The child is in good condition. He’s in the ward. Further information would be given by the Gender Ministry.” Zeenath said.

When asked why the woman abandoned her child, Zeenath said that the Gender Ministry would be answering to that question.

The Gender Ministry said that they do not share information with the media on individual cases.
