Government invites applications for PG post

President’s Office has invited interested individuals to apply for the post of Prosecutor General (PG).

The deadline for submitting applications is Wednesday, 18 November 2015.

Prosecutor General Act states that an individual shall be appointed as Prosecutor General within 30 days of the post becoming vacant.

Applicants should be above 25 years of age, Maldivian citizens, hold a degree in law or legal affairs, and have four years of experience.

Applicants also should not have been convicted of fraud, bribery or other criminal offences; hold a political post, or be a member of a political party.

The post of Prosecutor General became vacant after the parliament passed a no-confidence motion against Muhthaz Muhsin.

Ahmed Muizzu, who held the post before Muhsin, resigned when the main opposition party submitted a no-confidence motion against him to the parliament.
