MNDF has begun a search at the island of Huruvalhi in Lhaviyani atoll, which is being developed as a tourist resort.
Pictures of some MNDF officers on the island have been circulating on social media. There have been rumors that the search is related to firearms.
Regarding the rumors, the Media Officer of MNDF, Major Adnaan Mohamed told Sun Media that there is nothing special about the MNDF presence on Huruvalhi and is normal directive within their responsibilities.
Sources say that MNDF is conducting their search at the accommodation block at the shipping containers on the island. Sun Media has confirmed that they are still on the island.
MNDF is searching the island at a time where a number of locations in Malé City are being search in the investigation of the explosion on board the Presidential Launch. Last night, the Police took the CCTV footage from the residence of the Vice President Ahmed Adheeb’s wife.
Before that, the Police took the CCTV footage from the residence of MP Ahmed Nihan and Haamid Ismail, the Managing Director of Gulf Craft Maldives.
