Trial of the RaajjeTV arson suspect beings tomorrow

The trial of Mohamed Miaad in the arson of RaajjeTV has been scheduled to begin tomorrow.

The fire at the RaajjeTV on BTK Building was set on 6 October 2013 at around 4:42 a.m. Aside from the offices and equipment at RaajjeTV, all the goods at the warehouse of Computer Plus at the building was also destroyed beyond use.

The state has charged Mohamed Miaad of H. Gasvaa. The Police investigation confirmed that a part of his arm was burned. And so burn scars were found on his right arm. The trial is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.

Although only one person has been charged, Police have sent cases against nine people to the Prosecutor General’s Office to press charges.

They are a 17-year-old, two 18-year-olds, a 20-year-old, a 21-year-old, two 22-year-olds, a 24-year-old and a 35-year-old man.
