Police have arrested two people on suspicion of attempting to break in to the Vilimalé branch of Bank of Maldives (BML).
Police said in a statement that the operation was conducted by Police Intelligence, Police Organised Crime Department, and Vilimalé Police Station, and the arrests were made near the bank building on Tuesday night.
The suspects, two Maldivian men aged 19 and 21, were carrying tools that could be used to break in to a building, said police.
Both suspects have criminal record for drugs and theft.
The case is under police investigation.
