Spokesperson of the President’s Office, Ibrahim Muaz Ali has said that the President is going to pay more attention to the Economic Council than before.
The Spokesperson for the President’s Office has said this at a time where rumors are flying about the Vice President, Ahmed Adheeb being dismissed from the Co-Chair of the Economic Council.
Muaz told Sun Media tonight that the President would be paying much more attention to the Economic Council now and the President has said that he would be much more involved in to run the council more efficiently.
Spokesperson Muaz Ali sent out a tweet tonight saying that the Co-Chair of EYC (Economic and Youth Council) is not a position where people are assigned or dismissed, that is who would be the Chair in the absence of the President.

In another tweet tonight, he said that the Economic Council and the Social Council is directly under the President and that the two councils were formed to take off the load from the Cabinet.
Muaz said that the President is working to strengthen the role of the Social Council in matters related to the people.
When asked over the phone if the Vice President Adheeb was dismissed from the Co-Chair of the Economic Council, Spokesperson Muaz said that he is not aware of any dismissal from any Government position.
He said that Vice President is now in Singapore after the Investment Forum in China.
