State Electric Company (STELCO) has announced the introduction of a new system of charging for electric connections. As per the new system, customers would be charged on a fixed-rate basis, depending on the connection type. STELCO has been charging for power connections based on the costs incurred for each individual connection.
In the new system, a single-phase connection with a meter would cost MRF2000, while the same connection without a meter would cost MRF1500. A three-phase connection with a meter would take MRF5000, and three-phase without a meter would be charged MRF2500.
STELCO informed the media today that the new system would begin on the 1st of the coming September.
