Police reported that a man - from among the crowd gathered outside Criminal Court on Monday where trial of Adhalath Party leader Sheikh Imran is taking place - was arrested for disobeying police order.
Police media official said that the man was 54 years of age.
Adhalath Party sent out a tweet in which they identified the man as one of their party activists – Ali Ahmed (Maalimy Alibe); and appealed for police to release the man.
Imran’s trial – coming 162 days after his arrest was originally set to begin at 10:30, but was later changed to 12:30 for unspecified reasons.
Imran was charged with terrorism for some words he declared during a rally organized by the opposition.
