Police investigate suspicious items in politicians

Police have initiated an investigation after suspicious items were found in the Special Protection Unit in Himmafushi Prison, where former Minister of Defence Mohamed Nazim, former MP Ahmed Nazim, and President of Adhaalath Party Imran Abdulla are kept.

No details have been provided by the police.

Earlier, Information Officer of Maldives Correctional Service Moosa Zameer confirmed that suspicious items had been found in this unit during a routine search, but declined to provide details.
