Presidential Commission to be headed by Umar Naseer

Minister of Home Affairs Umar Naseer has been appointed as the Head of the Presidential Commission, established to take action to ensure that incidents such as the explosion on the presidential speedboat on 28 September 2015 are not repeated.

The undertakings of the commission will be closely monitored by President Abdulla Yameen.

The other members appointed to the Presidential Commission are Vice Chief of Defence Force Brigadier General Ahmed Shahid, Colonel Abdul Raoof, Captain Ali Ihsan, Assistant Commissioner of Police Mohamed Jamsheed, Assistant Commissioner of Police Abdulla Nawaz, and Chief Station Inspector Mohamed Sameeh.

Colonel Abdul Raoof is the Head of Intelligence of Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), and Assistant Commissioner of Police Mohamed Jamsheed is the Head of Intelligence of Maldives Police Service.
