MP Moosa dismissed from the National Security Committee

Deputy of the Parliament, MP for the Hulhu-Henveiru constituency, Moosa Manik has been dismissed from the National Security Committee.

Talking to Sun Media, the MP for the North-Maafannu constituency, Imthiyaz Fahumee (Inthi) said that MP Moosa who was on the committee on an MDP slot was dismissed because he was on the committee on behalf of MDP. Inthi said that MP Moosa cannot be on the committee since he is no longer a member of MDP.

“When Moosa was a member of MDP, he was put on the (National Security) Committee by MDP. But he cannot be on the committee like that after MDP dismissed his membership.” MP Imthiyaz said.

After being dismissed from MDP, MP Moosa Manik remains at the Parliament as an independent MP.

Claiming that MP Moosa repeatedly violated the MDP whip-line, Moosa was dismissed by MDP on 22 December of last year.
