The multi-national teams that came to the Maldives for the investigation of the explosion on board the Presidential launch has left the country.
Police Media Official told Sun Media today that all the teams have left the country by the end of last night. He said that although the teams have left, they would still be taking part in the investigation.
A total of 20 specialists came to the Maldives to take part in the investigation. The multi-national team include four Sri Lankan specialists, three Indian specialists, four FBI agents from United States and nine Saudi investigators.
While the teams have left the country, some of the evidence from the Presidential launch has been sent abroad for investigation. So far no information on the investigation has revealed.
President and the First Lady were traveling from Hulhulé to the Capital, Malé after their Hajj Pilgrimage in the morning of 28 September, when the explosion that took place on board the Presidential launch injuring a bodyguard of the President, a presidential aide and the First Lady, Fathimath Ibrahim.
President Abdulla Yamin Abdul Gayoom was unharmed.
