An MTCC ferry crashed on the Gaafaru bight

An MTCC ferry travelling from Malé City to K. Gaafaru has crashed on the island’s bight.

The incident took place this evening when the Ferry was leaving the lagoon after finishing the journey to the island.

President of the Gaafaru Island Council, Adam Zahir told Sun Media tonight that there were an estimated 20 people on board the ferry when the incident took place and none of them were injured and there was minimal damage to the ferry.

Councilor Zahir said that the ferry can be freed from the bight during high tide.
