Caution has been advised when travelling due to the bad weather expected tonight and the next two days across the country.
While many are expected to make return trips after their Eid holidays starting tomorrow, Police have said today that the Marine Police advises all who are travelling via sea to prioritize the safety of their lives and cargo.
“Since there are dangerous situations being faced by vessels travelling the sea route due to strong winds, rough seas and big waves in the rains lately, Marine Police advises to travel with the latest information on the weather and notify the closes Police Station, Marine Police or Coast Guar before beginning the journey.” Police said.
The Police also advice to make sure the communication systems are functioning on journeys with a large number of people and ferry trips.
And the Marine Police advices to secure all safety measures and the latest weather reports when going out to picnics or finishing on small boats and dinghies.
Weather reports from the National Meteorological Center estimates that showers with possibilities of thunder are expected across the country in the forecast up to 10 a.m. tomorrow. And so heavy rains with thunderstorms in some of the central atolls are a possibility according to the MET Office.
