Amal Clooney, Jared Genser meet with Nasheed again

Members of former president Mohamed Nasheed’s international legal team, Amal Clooney and Jared Genser, have met with Nasheed in prison today as well.

An official of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) told Sun Online that the meeting took place at Maafushi Prison this morning, and lasted about two hours.

He did not share any information on what was discussed at the meeting.

Clooney also met with Nasheed on Tuesday, and both Clooney and Genser met with him yesterday.

Clooney arrived in the Maldives on Monday, and Genser yesterday.

Nasheed was sentenced to 13 years in prison in March 2015 for ordering the abduction in 2012, during his presidency, of Chief Judge of Criminal Court Abdulla Mohamed.
