Fire breaks out in Fuvahmulah Funaadu wetlands

A fire has broken out in the wetlands in Funaadu in Fuvahmulah.

Speaking to Sun Online, Funaadu Council President Ali Waseem said that the fire started about two hours ago. He ruled out arson and said that it was most likely caused by hot weather.

Efforts are ongoing by Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) to extinguish the fire and it has been controlled to a great extent, Ali Waseem said.
