PPM’s Machangolhi branch has called to give the presidency of the party to President Abdulla Yamin Abdul Gayoom.

A statement issued with the signature of the President of the PPM Machangolhi Branch and coordinator at the Tourism Ministry, Ahmed Shamoon says that the policies of leader of a presidency has to be widely available to the President of the country at that time.

“And so to implement the policies of the current President, Abdulla Yamin Abdul Gayoom, the highest level of cooperation has to be given to President Abdulla Yamin Abdul Gayoom by all the branches of the party. To achieve that goal, I call on behalf of this branch by unanimous vote, to the Council of the Party to bring Abdulla Yamin Abdul Gayoom to the presidency of the party.” The statement said.

The statement also says that as members of the first registered branch of PPM, they support President Abdulla Yamin Abdul Gayoom for a second term of presidency in 2018.

The Machangolhi branch also expressed their gratitude to the First Lady, Fathimath Ibrahim and the Vice President Ahmed Adheeb for running the pre-campaign preparations for President Yamin.

The statement also said that they support the amendment to the Law of Political Parties by MP Ali Azim to set the age of 65 as the highest to be the head of a political party.
