Expo Milano Maldives stall receives 100,000 visitors

Over 100,000 people had visited the stall set up by the Maldives at Expo Milano 2015 in Milan, Italy, by the end of August 2015, Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has announced.

Milano Expo 2015 is held from 1 May to 31 October 2015. Participants include 140 countries, and the exhibition is expected to receive 20 million visitors.

The Maldives stall is 60 square metres in size, and displays the country’s natural beauty.

It also offers cultural events, children’s events, souvenirs, and allows visitors to taste Maldivian delicacies. Panel discussions are held weekly on climate change and protected species.

Maldives celebrated National Day at the exhibition on 10 August 2015.

Tourist arrivals in Maldives from Italy stood at 57,862 at the end of 2014.
