An agreement has been signed with Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) to provide easier housing for the employees of Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA).
At the ceremony today at the Finance Ministry, the MIRA’s Commissioner General of Taxation, Yazeed Mohamed signed on behalf of MIRA. And the Managing Director of HDFC, Dr. A. D. Priyanka Baddevithana represented his corporation on the agreement.
Talking to the press after the signing, Yazeed Mohamed said that the agreement signed today would make things easier for the employees of MIRA to get apartments in Malé and Hulhumalé.
He said that MIRA employees would get a lower rate if they want to buy an apartment, or buy furniture for an apartment or get a loan through HDFC.
Yazeed says that they arranged that they can repay with a deduction from the salary in that scheme.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Managing Director of HDFC, Dr. Baddavithana said that the target of HDFC is to establish a cheap, long term loan scheme.
