Exhibition on the road to freedom opens

On the occasion of the country’s 50th Independence Day, an exhibition has been opened that displays the work put behind gaining that freesom.

The exhibition “Journey to Freedom – Destination Guaranteed” at the National Museum, was opened by the Home Minister, Umar Naseer.

Speaking at the opening ceremony held last night, Foreign Minister, Dhunya Maumoon said that there are many things in the exhibition that shows what led to losing our freedom.

Minister Dhunya said that the exhibition also shows what followed after achieving independence. And so the development in education and tourism are also displayed.

The exhibition by the Department of Heritage, National Library, Foreign Ministry, Public Service Media (PSM) and the National Archives displays multiple historic events from the country’s past.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Minister Umar Naseer said that lots of activities are being conducted to celebrate the Golden Jubilee Independence Day of the Maldives. And that the exhibition is an important link in the chain in the celebration of the historic achievement.
