Former President Mohamed Nasheed has made a request to the Home Minister, Umar Naseer for an MRI scan.
A press release issued from the former President’s Office today says that when President Nasheed consulted a doctor on 19 August, the doctor advised to do an MRI scan after two weeks.
The statement says that the duration is due today.
“Since that duration would be due today, President Nasheed’s lawyer, Mr. Hassan Latheef has made a request today to the Minister of Home Affairs to do an MRI scan of President Nasheed as per the doctor’s advice.” The statement from the former President’s Office said.
The statement says that at the last consultation, the doctor advised the former president to do physiotherapy for two weeks and rest at a stress free environment.
“And the doctor said that the most efficient treatment for President Nasheed can be determined after an MRI scan after two weeks.” The statement said.
The statement from the former President’s Office says that President Nasheed was moved back to prison against the doctor’s advice.
President Nasheed who was convicted of terrorism by the Criminal Court was moved back to prison on 23 August.
President Mohamed Nasheed was sentenced to 13 years in prison in March 2015 for ordering the abduction of the Chief Judge of Criminal Court Abdulla Mohamed in 2012 as the commander in chief, during his presidency.
