Two-way traffic on part of Kanba Aisa Rani Hingun for beach construction

Transport Authority has decided to allow traffic in both directions on a major part of Kanba Aisa Rani Hingun from tomorrow onwards, for the construction of a new artificial beach on the west side of Malé.

This has been confirmed to Sun Online by Information Officer of Maldives Police Service Ismail Ali, who said that two-way traffic would be allowed from the intersection of Kanba Aisa Rani Hingun and Majeedee Magu, up to the Family and Child Protection Department building of the Police.

He said that the new regulation would be in place until the completion of the construction of the beach, and parking would not be allowed on this part of Kanba Aisa Rani Hingun during this period.

Also, increased police presence has been planned for this area, as high traffic is expected on this road especially during school starting and finishing hours, Ismail Ali said.

Part of Social Centre, including its gym, seminar room and meeting room, and Water Gate restaurant have been demolished for the artificial beach project.
