Development of the west of Mal

The development of a swimming area in the west of Malé City has been awarded to MTCC for MVR 41.5 million.

The agreement of the project was signed by the Minister of Housing and Infrastructure, Dr. Mohamed Muiz. MTCC was represented on the agreement by the CEO of the company, Ibrahim Abdul Razzaq Haleem.

The project was awarded to be completed in four months. The project involves digging an area of 4623 square meters to 3 meters deep and developing a beach area of 2547 square meters.

“This includes renewing the road, the sea wall and the development of the beach.” Minister Dr. Muiz said. “It would be twice as big as the beach on the eastern side.”

The Minister said that the construction would begin tomorrow or the day after in the development area.

Minister Dr. Muiz said that Boduthakurufaanu Magu would be changed from how it is now and a new road would be made next to the new beach.

He said that the development area would be closed during construction. And that a plan for traffic management during the development would be announced later.

CEO of MTCC, Ibrahim Abdul Razzaq Haleem said that they have the guarantee that the project would be completed by the project due date.
