Man arrested for attempted mugging of an expat

A man who attempted to threaten and mug an expat has been arrested by the Police.

Police said that they arrested a 41-year-old man in that case.

Following a lead to the Maafannu Police station patrolling the streets of Malé, the man are taken into Police custody around 2:15 p.m. yesterday.

Police said that the man they arrested has a record for robbery and drug related crimes.

They also said that the case is being investigated by the General Investigation Department of the Police.
