Three people arrested after recovering a stolen safe from a guesthouse in Hulhumal

Three people have been arrested after recovering a safe and the money it contained that was stolen from a guesthouse in Hulhumalé.

Police said that they arrested three Maldivians in the case. They said that the theft of the safe was reported to around 1:30 p.m.

In a special operation by Police in Hulhumalé, three suspects were arrested at 2:30 p.m.

“After arresting those three people, they were questioned and when no information was received from them, the Police started searching different parts of the island.” Police said.

Police said that the safe was found around 5:15 p.m., buried in the trees in Hulhumalé. Police said that the safe was found with the money the owner claimed to have inside it.

Hulhumalé Police Station is currently investigating the case.
