Police Precinct opens at Neykurendhoo

A Police Precinct has been opened at H.Dh. Neykurendhoo.

The Precinct was opened by the Commissioner of Police, Hussain Waheed at a special ceremony on the island.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Commissioner of Police, Hussain Waheed said that a Police precinct has been opened in Neykurendhoo with the help of a lot of people. And so he expressed his gratitude to the Island Council, the people of the island and the MP of the constituency, Anaara Naeem.

Commissioner Waheed urged the people of the island to assist the Police in their efforts to protect the island from crime.

Noting that the Police have faced some hostility from some islands in the past, the Commissioner said that things like that would not be acceptable in the future.

Along with the Commissioner of Police, a large number of people from the island with heads of island institutes took part in the opening ceremony of the Neykurendhoo Police Precinct.
