Boat on land burns down in Fuvahmulah

A boat on land in Neregande region in Fuvahmulah has been destroyed in a fire.

Police said that the incident was reported at 11:38 p.m. on Thursday, and the fire was controlled shortly afterwards by police and Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) officers.

Vice President of Gnaviyani Atoll Council Hussain Shafee Ibrahim said that the fibre boat was removed from water recently, after it broke; and that he was “90 percent certain” the fire was a result of arson.
