State-owned company Island Aviation has made the decision to sell its 17-seat aircraft Dornier.
Managing Director of Island Aviation Abdul Harish said today that the decision was made because this model no longer exists in the market, and also due to the high expenses involved in operating this aircraft.
“Passengers do not want to travel on this aircraft anymore. Also its expenses are too high. So we have made the decision to sell the aircraft,” Harish said.
He added that the company which used to manufacture this aircraft has discontinued this model, which makes it impossible to obtain spare parts.
“Our operations will not be affected by selling this aircraft. We are currently able to meet existing demand,” Harish said.
Island Aviation introduced a new aircraft to its fleet last November. A total of five aircrafts are used by Island Aviation for its operations.
