Civil Service Commission (CSC) has announced its decision to give performance bonus to 13,905 employees this year.
At a press conference today, Senior Human Resources Officer of CSC Mohamed Riza said that information was collected from all government offices to assess performance, and compared to last year, there is a 3 percent increase in the number of civil servants receiving bonus this year.
He said that the budget allocated for bonus is MVR 40 million, and a circular has been issued to inform the employees entitled to bonus.
The bonus will be issued with the salary for July or August, and if requested, with the salary for June, Riza said.
The bonus categories are full salary, two-thirds of the salary, and one-third of the salary.
Employees have the right to file a complaint in the event that they are entitled to bonus but do not receive it. Riza said that the complaint shall be filed within one month to the institution of work of the civil servant, and the institution shall respond to the complaint within ten days.
The number of civil servants in the Maldives is 25,076.
