Former President Gayoom departs to Oman as President

Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom has departed to Oman as President Abdulla Yameen’s special envoy to represent the government in bilateral talks.

An official of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) told Sun Online that during this visit, Gayoom is scheduled to meet with the King of Oman, as well as with officials of relevant Omani authorities to discuss strengthening relations between the two countries, and securing aid for developmental projects in Maldives.
