The family of the former Defense Minister of this government, Colonel-retired Mohamed Nazim who currently serving an 11-year prison sentence, has filed a request at the Home Ministry asking to change him to house arrest.
Nazim’s wife, Afaaf Abdul Majeed told Sun Media today that his trial is not moving forward and the family has requested that he be moved to house arrest.
“Now all these days are is going in prison. So since this Ramadan, we’ve requested to be changed to house arrest. But there is no answer yet. We requested it this month.” She said.
Nazim’s trial was cancelled while two of the judges at the bench residing over the case has been moved to the Northern branch by the Supreme Court.
Colonel Mohamed Nazim was sentenced to 11 years in prison on 27 March after being convicted of possession of a firearm.
