National Integrity Commission bill submitted to parliament

The government has submitted a bill to the parliament on establishing a National Integrity Commission.

The President’s Office said that the purpose of the bill is to establish a Commission to work towards strengthening the management of law enforcement institutions, and establishing policies and procedures for such institutions and their staff.

If passed, the new law will see the dissolution of the Police Integrity Commission and the Customs Integrity Commission, and the transfer of their responsibilities to the National Integrity Commission.
